better bodied
done better
lived better
loved better
I believed in
the future
a hope
I lost verdant spring to fall’s winter preparation
I swallowed the bitter poison of disappointment like mothers milk
It was my
cross
sacrifice
sustenance
Baptized and reborn as a distortion
No more
BLAME Lamentations of the deluded |
Frida Kahlo "The Little Deer" 1946 |
I could have been
successfulbetter bodied
done better
lived better
loved better
Tied to
the saboteur
the doomed
the damned
I believed in
the future
a hope
I lost verdant spring to fall’s winter preparation
I swallowed the bitter poison of disappointment like mothers milk
It was my
cross
sacrifice
sustenance
Baptized and reborn as a distortion
No more
Frida Kahlo is one of my favorite artists. I like this poem too as it exposes the subject and makes him/her vulnerable. It's not easy to evaluate ourselves, but we must in order to grow and change. Lovely work.
